Dental Implant FAQ

I hear advertisements for implants on the radio, saying that they can place implants for way less than you charge. How can that be?

The fixed costs for implants and the components that fit on the implant to allow for crown fabrication are significant. THERE IS MORE TO THE PROCEDURE THAN JUST THE COST OF THE ACTUAL IMPLANT. Some offices state only the cost of the implant itself (a la cart), but once you are in their office, they will have to eventually include the entire list of expenses that come along with it. Though the implant itself may be at an extremely discounted cost, the business will have to charge you many extras, that the discount does not apply to. In the end, they charge about the same amount of money for their implant as you would pay at our office.  We prefer to tell you upfront so you have a better understanding of what to expect with less surprises.

Can I get my implants placed on the same day as I have my tooth removed?

Yes, it is possible in some cases. However there are risks to be assumed with placing an implant at the same time that the tooth is removed. Talk with Dr. Clark to find out if the risks associated with immediate placement are too high for your case.

Are implants permanent?

Nothing is permanent! However, as with your own 'permanent' teeth, if you care for your implants as directed, and attend regular check-ups with your dentist, they can last an awfully long time.
